I've been a prizewinner in the BP Portrait Award on 3 occasions, coming 2nd in 1998. I've been a recipient in the NatWest Prize for Art (1995 and 1996) and Hunting Art Prizes (1997 and 1999). I won the Black Swan Prize for Art in 2000 and the Wells Art Contemporary Prize of 2012.  

I received project grants in 2005 from the Rootstein Hopkins Foundation and the Arts Council for a film about distraction. This was shown alongside works on paper by the early 20th century artist Gwen John at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath.  

In 2018, I started a 3 year course of training to teach the Alexander technique and began a series of portraits of fellow trainees and teachers. I think of A.T as a way to study the creative process in painting, and in life itself.
