Statement
Kate has embarked on a series of leaf mould paintings to show a neglected part of the cycle of life, the start of the process of decay that is so important to the circular nature of all natural things. Leaf mould also provides a vital habitat for small creatures that in turn are a crucial part of the food chain. These are bold and refreshing paintings and there is a collector’s mind in a sustained series of leaf paintings. You can feel their crisp edges!
