This series of work titled 'Man Made' why humans have a disastrous effect on the planet, from the time we lit our first fires and flint tools the wheels were set in motion. Our intelligence and ingenuity are our achilles heel. we can dig minerals out of the ground and make into an array of different things, domesticate wild animals and organise fields for food.

Blacksmith tooling has been chosen as a vehicle to project this thought as they have been used for thousands of years and are still in use. These have been used to make other tools to make other tools until we arrive at today where we have computers and space travel. These are beautiful objects in their own right so the form hasn't changed, but with all my work it becomes an object to decorate and help with the narrative by tapping into ceramic traditions.

Nature intended us to be clever and dextrous and up to a point everything we have done is with good intentions, but now we realise we could be masters of our own demise, hence the skull being part of the work. Do we have the ingenuity to solve the problems we cause.
